Generally between 15 and 25. If you have a larger group booking in mind, let us know so we can bring another ride leader along. This allows us to give all of our riders the attention that's needed. Similarly, if you have a smaller group and desire a private tour, let us know and we'll work with you on this.
Yes, yes you do. A valid motorcycle license (for the bike of your choosing) from your home country is required to ride on all public roads throughout Australia.
In short, yes. All of our accommodation is pre-booked and we have a schedule to stick to. We urge you to bring wet weather gear as Australia is quite a tropical climate (especially up North). Having said that, we are generally blessed with great weather here, and all of our suggested tours show the best time of year to ride in that region. However, if the weather turns particularly bad, we always err on the side of caution.
Yes. We have a support vehicle (sweep) in tow on all of our tours, which will also carry your luggage, and a spare motorcycle so we don't lose any time in the instance of a breakdown.
Most Steel Horse Moto tour participants choose to bundle one of our Theft and Damage Waiver options with one of our Supplemental Liability Insurance options for maximum peace of mind. We will discuss this with you in detail when you enquire or book your tour.
Yes, when the roads are straight, this is the way we like to roll. But don't worry, there will be a detailed briefing at the start of each day to outline everything.
We like to make our tours as personalised as possible, so this is entirely up to you. We find that anywhere between 300-400km is the sweet spot. A good amount of riding, but not too overwhelming.
So long as it's a Harley, yes you certainly can. Let us know in advance if you'd like to do so as you'll be subject to a discounted rate on our tours. We also ask that you have your bike serviced and tyres checked just ahead of the tour start date.
Yes as long as both parties are willing, this is fine. In this instance however, you will have to sign each others rental contracts, and in the instance of any damage occurring, it will be your responsibility to cover the costs.
Upon booking confirmation, we will send you a detailed 'what to bring' check list. We find that most riders like to bring their own helmet too, however if you need one, this can be arranged at the time of pickup.
As we understand how important it is for you to be on the bike of your choice, we will do everything we can to ensure you're on the bike you desire for the duration of the tour. However we are limited to our suppliers availability. The sooner you book your tour, the greater your chances of getting the bike you want.
We obey all speed limits, and aim to set a pace that is comfortable for all our riders. We want you to enjoy every minute of your holiday, be able to take it all in and not stress about keeping up with the group.
Of course! However if you do so, we recommend a larger touring bike with a back rest as it will be the most comfortable option for the passenger.
Petrol is covered on all designated touring days and rides. If you venture out on your own at any point though, you will need to supply your own petrol.
Our tour leaders know the routes extensively, and we will make stops along the way at all the best locations. If there's somewhere specific you'd like to stop, please let us know the night before so we can accommodate.
We certainly can. If you would like us to arrange additional accommodation prior to, or after the tour, just let us know and we can arrange this for you.
We always ensure that your accommodation is clean, comfortable, secure, and of a high standard. Rest assured, you'll be staying in some of the better accommodation the city or town we are staying in has to offer.
