Great Ocean Road and Snowy Mountains
Two of Australia's most iconic and picturesque rides rolled into one. Need we say more?
This is one of our favourite, easy weeks of touring. Leaving Melbourne and heading directly to Lakes Entrance, where fishing trawlers haul in the ‘catch of the day’. There’s plenty to see and do before we tuck into a seafood banquet at one of the many fine restaurants.
In the morning we’ll head ‘up the hill’ to Mount Buffalo. The scenery here is very dramatic… but don’t take your eyes off the road for a minute and have your wits about you. This is not a ride for the faint hearted. After transcending the mountain we’ll find ourselves in Glenrowan (where Ned Kelly, the infamous bushranger lived) for our second night.
From Glenrowan we’ll be heading back to the coast to Bells Beach and along the Great Ocean Road, all the way to the Twelve Apostles and Port Campbell for a good nights rest. Our last day will take us back along the Great Ocean Road and the Mornington Peninsula. The ride has to be done twice… once for the magnificent scenery, the second time for the incredible road itself.
